Are John Deere compact tractors worth the cost

So, you’re deciding which sub compact tractor is right for you. What do you need? How much can you budget? Is the John Deere brand really worth the price tag? It’s a big decision.

There’s a lot of factors to consider before choosing the right small tractor for your needs. Among features and reliably comes another very important factor: price.

_________________________________________________________

That brings us to the main question: Are John Deere compact tractors worth the cost?

In a word, yes. Here are a few reasons why:

First, MSRP isn’t always what it seems.
At Heritage Tractor, we aim to get our customers the best deal. On average, our tractor packages are priced $3,000 less than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

It’s also important to note that the other brands’ models aren’t always comparable to the John Deere model. John Deere packs their tractors full of added features and benefits that come standard—things you might have to pay extra for with another colors.

Second, it’s not just a purchase, it’s an investment.
You want a tractor that does the job and stands the test of time. That means not only that it works hard for you while you need it, but also that it holds its value when you, or your kids, are ready to sell it many years down the road.

According to third party research from FleetEvaluator, a John Deere 2016 1025R with 325 hours compared to a 2016 Kubota BX2370 with the same hours is worth 16%  more.* While depreciation rates vary based on the market, area, repairs, attachments, usage and more, this theme can be seen across all facets of the used equipment market—a John Deere tends to hold its value much better than other brands. How can this be?

1. Recognition & Reliability

John Deere is one of the world’s most recognizable brands and has earned the trust of consumers since 1837. Their high-quality equipment is built to last. Used equipment buyers know this, which puts John Deere tractors in high demand.

2. Expert service, long after the purchase.

John Deere is known for its legendary tractors. With that comes dealers like Heritage Tractor built to take care of you and your tractor.

Heritage Tractor’s certified technicians and knowledgeable parts team will help you through every maintenance, repair, implement addition or warranty issue. With 330,000 parts in stock, Heritage Tractor also has one of the highest first-pass fill rates, meaning that when you need the part, we likely have it, or can get it to you quickly. We aim to go above and beyond for our customers with services like parts shipped to your home and pickup and delivery. You won’t get this with the other guys.

3. Plastic makes perfect
.

You might hear the other guys harp on John Deere compact tractors with plastic hoods and boast that their tractors are all metal. Don’t let the word “plastic” scare you—this isn’t your mom’s Tupperware™ Plastic. This is a polycarbonate high-grade plastic comparable to what is used in the automotive and aerospace industries.

John Deere doesn’t skimp. The choice to use a plastic hood was not only intentional, but strategic. Plastic hoods aren’t as prone to sun fading, dents and scratches. Which means that even after years of sitting out in the elements, an old Deere can still outshine the competition.

As you compare compact tractor brands, keep in mind that in many cases, you get what you pay for. So, you can choose to buy another brand or invest in a John Deere.
